The Bank of America Chicago Marathon

October 9, 2011

Registration for the Chicago Marathon has closed -
Best Buddies has a limited number of race entries available. Call today to secure your spot!

Join Our 2011 Bank of America Chicago Marathon Team!

The Chicago Marathon is known for its fast, flat course. Elite athletes and amateurs alike annually target the race for its potential to generate personal, national, and world records. In addition to its speed, the course offers a scenic tour of Chicago as it weaves through 29 diverse neighborhoods and dozens of local and historical landmarks. As a member of Team Best Buddies, you are guaranteed to see all that is great about the city of Chicago – all while helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

People with disabilities are often excluded from society because of their differences. Best Buddies Illinois (BBIL) is dedicated to establishing a volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

BBIL challenges you to run the Chicago Marathon on behalf of friendship! Members of our Team receive private race day gear check, discounted CARA Marathon training, complimentary admission to our pre-race pasta dinner at D'Agostino's, a dri-fit running shirt, customized online fundraising, prizes, and much more! Interested in joining our team? Please contact Emilie Lewis, Deputy Director of Development for Best Buddies Illinois, at ext. 18 or for more information. Please note that we ask all runners to commit to a fundraising minimum of $400. The funds raised will support programs locally and throughout Illinois – and you'll benefit from the program too!

*Best Buddies Illinois will request all participants to raise a minimum of $950 if they receive a post-close entry.
